Meet Storm.

Over the weekend I received another email of one of our pups, Storm, living in Texas. She is the daughter of Vegter and Bella.

It warms my heart to see my puppies are doing well and in good and loving homes.

Is she not gorgeous?

News flash

We have decided to slow down with our breeding programme for now. It is a full time job, and neither of us really has the time. Our 7 dogs continue to be pets and will still be roaming the farm, but for now, no new litters.

Should you be interested in puppies, please contact Marius Kluyts - 082 318 2003. Our Sumsare Lemmer (black boerboel) is the father of their upcoming litter. He will be able to tell you more about the dam.

Puppies of one of our puppies!

Sound confusing?

Let me explain... Our Bella, had puppies just under two years ago. One of them, also named Bella, was sold and lived happily ever after in Klein Brak close to Mosselbay.

Well, 5 weeks ago, she had her own litter of three, and the owner sent me these pics.

Too cute hey?

Pup has been sold and now residing in the Overberg.

I need a good home!

So, after yet ANOTHER fake pregnancy scare, Afrika Bella graced us with one perfect puppy. 

She is the luckiest thing in the world. 8 teats, all hers!

If all goes well...

... there might be a litter +/- 24 August 2013.

That is if Miss Bella does not have a Pseudo Pregnancy again!

I just love it when owners send me photo's of their pups. This is Bielie. He is a Lemmer/Katryn puppy and lives in Port Townsend, USA. Ain't he gorgeous?

I tried to flip these two to the right side, but it just won't... You can still see what a beaut he is though!

False alarm!

I am very sad to advise you that Bella is having a false pregnancy. She was supposed to have her puppies last week, but we became concerned after she showed no sign of being close to giving birth.  She had / still has milk and a huge tummy, but the scan showed nothing. 

False pregnancy, or pseudo pregnancy, is a term used to denote a common condition in a non-pregnant female dog that is showing symptoms of pregnancy, lactation, or nursing, without producing puppies. The affected female dog shows these symptoms about a month or two after her estrus (heat) is over. A hormonal imbalance is thought to play a central role in affected female dogs. Depending on the severity of problem, the symptoms may last for more than a month.

Let's hope for the best for next time!
